The Povolzskaya machinery testing station is the largest in the State agricultural machinery and technology testing system. It covers the regions in the Privolzkii Federal district.

   The main activities of the station can be summarized as follows:

the realization of State tests and certification for pre-production and series models of domestic and foreign agricultural machinery along with the modern production technologies realized upon their basis;

studying, the propagation and practical implementation of the most advanced domestic and foreign agricultural resource-saving technologies, new machines and systems, effective methods of their operation and R&M

rendering technical and technological services on a contract basis to agricultural producers;

applied research in the field of testing and the effective operation of agricultural machinery.

   During its more then semi-centennial history over 4500 machines have been tested at the station and more then a third of them have been recommended for series production. These machines are well-known and hold a good reputation. Among them are tractors such as the K-700, Т-150К, combine harvesters like the SК-5, Don-1500, grain seeders SZ-3.6, ploughs, cultivators, disk harrows and skim plows, irrigation machinery, equipment for cultivating onions, carrots, melons and gourds, machines and equipment for raising livestock and equipment for many other areas. The Povolzskaya machinery testing station actively participates in practically all the regional programs to do with agricultural machinery and equipment. It has a long experience with using the most powerful and cutting edge high-performance machinery within the framework of 'mobile complex groups'. Today this experience and knowledge has been widely adopted in machinery technology stations.
